13 ROOMS WITH A VIEW TO THE NORTH-WEST

The oddest, the quietest monochrome music, that could last any amount of time.

Still, nowhere going, almost non-moving, this piece stands out of the whole Svyatoslav Lunyov’s creative work.

A room (camera) is a core of chamber music. Enclosed space becomes the key idea: in fact, there’s only one room and 13 views out. 13 dialogues with a friend living far in the northwest. Or 13 monologues.

First performance: Igor Zavgorodnii (vln), Sergei Kazakov (vlc), Antonii Baryshevskyi (pf), Kyiv, 2018

Instrumentation: vln, vlc, pf

Duration: 25′
